Business started: Although I have been an artist for 30 plus years, this year is the first that I have been able to dedicate time and energy to creating my artwork. I started this new venture in May 2006.
COSE Member since: May 2006
Type of work: Mixed Media, primarily experimental watercolor , collage and graphite.
Benefits of membership:
As a new member I can already see many ways I can get to know other working artists and to see what is happening in our area.
About: I was lucky enough to spend my entire career working in a creative environment with world-class talent. To be surrounded by art, color and design every day kept my own creativity super-charged, even when I didn't have time to do my own work.
Connect: As a new member, I hope to find some new ways to connect art and business in our area. As a Celebrity Artist this year for the American Diabetes Association, I realized how receptive area businesses are to the arts.
Advice:
Clarity is so important! Always make sure everyone is clear about the project or expectation, especially when bridging seemingly diverse worlds such as art and business.
