About:
In 2000 I left behind a position as a management consultant and a thirty-one year career in computers to become a full-time artist. In July 2005 my business partner and I opened the gallery to have a place to sell our art and to connect with other artists. Our business has grown in other areas. We're expanding our classes and offer private parties and events. We're also developing a Web site and plan to be selling over the Web later this year.

Connect:
Creating art while also running a business requires a balancing of priorities. Many COSE members share this challenge, especially store owners, designers, and artists working under deadlines. Making time for and being creative after a long and tiring day is difficult.

Advice:
The most important thing I've learned is to stay balanced. I often find that swimming in the creative flow and producing art can feel contrary to the daily needs of running a business. I try to take some time each day, even if it's just a half hour in the evening, to make art.
