Business started:
I started my photography studio business in May of 1986.

Type of work:
I specialize in studio, location, and corporate photographic portraiture, with an emphasis on capturing the true essence of peoples' personalities through sensitivity and style. Some clients include Crain's Cleveland Business, Cleveland Magazine, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, just to name a few. People seek out my artistic talent when they are looking for something different and creative.

Benefits of membership:
Until recently, only health insurance, but hopefully the COSE Arts program will change that.

About:
I began my photography career in 1974, working for various studios, learning through some of most talented photographers in Cleveland, then I went on to what was then called Higbees, photographing their daily ads and fashion spreads-very much fun. Then in 1986, started my own business, with a hope and a prayer and only the first month's rent in my pocket. But I was following my dream, and believed that the rest would follow. And it did. I hit the pavement, showing my portfolio to art directors all over town, and soon the business started coming in. It was very exciting to have people hiring me for what I do best, appreciating my talent, and being paid for it! After all these years, there is not a day that goes by, where I don't feel gratitude for being able to do what I love for a living. And I don't have to fight rush hour.

Connect:
Without a respect for business, I couldn't survive as an artist. It takes a knowledge of running a business, your own business, to be able to survive - like it or not.

Advice:
A successful working realtionship consists of the business and the artist having a respect for each others concerns and objectives-and meeting half way.
